Ben Thomas was born in Minot, North Dakota. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of North Dakota in 1986. In 1989 Judge Thomas received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law, and has been in private practice in Fargo ever since. He served as president and managing partner of Wold Johnson, P.C. from 2003 to 2023. His practice is devoted primarily to employment law and civil litigation. Since 1996, Judge Thomas has served as a contract hearing officer and administrative law judge for Workforce Safety and Insurance and OAH.
